A reclining elephant-headed figure, richly attired and jewel-adorned, is captured in a relaxed, almost playful pose atop a carved platform. Painted details in golds, greens and reds accentuate the folds of drapery, the beaded necklace and the delicately modelled features, while a small mouse at the figure's torso provides a charming companion element. The composition combines narrative character with careful craftsmanship: the carved wooden base, the worked limbs and the considered color accents all suggest a devotional or decorative object made to be both venerated and admired.

Isolated on a neutral background, the statue's humanlike posture and serene expression invite close inspection of its workmanship and iconography.
