A tall, split-column form encrusted with coarse, volcanic-like texture, this sculpture rises like a charred monolith with internal cavities glowing red. The deep fissure at the top reveals a contrasting inner surface, the bright red lacquer or slip creating the impression of heat and revealing an energetic core beneath a rough, blackened exterior. Embedded circular elements and cavernous hollows punctuate the surface, adding both punctuation and mystery to the silhouette.
