A compact monochrome portrait depicts a seated male musician in profile, his strongly modelled face defined by angular, economical strokes. Curving lines articulate thick hair, a prominent nose, moustache, beard, and an intent, inward-looking expression. Rising behind his shoulder is the long neck of a stringed instrument, while simplified foliage occupies the opposite side, balancing the composition.

The drawing relies on vigorous contour rather than tonal modelling, allowing sparse marks to suggest clothing, hands, vegetation, and surrounding space. Its restrained black-and-grey palette, visible textile-like ground, and deliberately unfinished passages give the image an immediate, sketch-like vitality. A handwritten signature and the date 2010 appear at lower right.
