A riverine scene unfolds beside monumental cylindrical architecture and stepped masonry, where a long red boat carries a procession of shaggy, fantastical figures. Their striped, hair-like bodies create a rhythmic contrast against the smooth water and muted blue-grey sky. Several figures wield poles or instruments, while white birds sweep dramatically around them, lending the composition movement and theatrical energy.

One airborne figure, trailing red ribbons, introduces an unmistakably surreal note. Warm reds, ochres, and reflected golds dominate the foreground, balanced by cooler blues across the water. The meticulous outlines, heightened proportions, and dreamlike human-animal forms transform an otherwise recognisable waterfront into an imaginative, enigmatic narrative.
