A framed composition combines a ripped cardboard motif stamped ‘Made in India’ with taped edges and a terracotta sculptural relief of a classical female figure. The cardboard and adhesive are rendered with meticulous, photorealistic detail against a textured, rust-coloured backdrop, creating the illusion of found objects affixed to the plane. This work interrogates authenticity and commodification by placing a devotional or traditional sculpture atop packaging and industrial signage.
The contrast between craftsmanship and mass production becomes a visual argument about cultural value and the language of objects in contemporary trade.
