Ganga Devi - Artwork 349

A finely detailed black-and-red drawing depicting a stylized animal — an elephant-like creature — surrounded by a dense border of interlocking leaf motifs and floral elements. The piece is dominated by delicate, repetitive hatch marks and patterning that fill the animal’s body and the surrounding field, while selective red accents punctuate the design and a small inscription in Devanagari appears near the creature’s back. Executed on a light ground and presented in a simple black frame, the work demonstrates meticulous hand-drawn ornamentation and an economy of color that highlights the rhythmic textures of the composition.

The result is an elegant example of contemporary folk revival: traditional decorative grammar rendered with precise linework and a restrained palette.
