Seema Kohli - Artwork 402

A meticulously detailed panel framed within wide matting, this work depicts a vibrant orange tree against a rich red ground, ringed by ornate circular medallions and tiny narrative figures. The composition and fine decorative patterns recall traditional Indian miniature painting, reinterpreted with a strong central silhouette and densely patterned foliage rendered in miniature scale. The piece balances meticulous ornament and contemporary presentation: tiny birds and narrative vignettes populate the branches, while the mat and frame isolate the image like a relic or talisman.

The effect is both intimate and ceremonial, inviting prolonged viewing to discover its many small stories.
