Himmat Shah - Artwork 442

A vividly colored horizontal composition that layers washes of red, blue, green and violet into an abstracted landscape, this work pairs gestural scribbles with rhythmic brushstrokes to suggest mountains, sky and shifting atmospheric bands. The repeated energetic red lines sweep across the picture plane like contour notations, while looser washes beneath create depth and a sense of geological strata, producing an exuberant, map-like vista. The painting’s vitality lies in its tension between control and abandon: deliberate mark-making interacts with free, watery passages to produce a field of movement and color.

The result is an expressive topography—part chart, part emotional terrain—that rewards both distant viewing and close inspection of its layered pigments and vigorous linework.
