Himmat Shah - Artwork 540
Rendered in a dark, mottled bronze, this work balances blocky geometric segments with softened, eroded edges; flattened planes sit adjacent to bulging volumes that resemble natural accretions. The surface treatment—subtle tooling marks, seams and small punctures—imparts the sense of a hand-assembled object that has aged over time. From its frontal stance the piece reads as a compact totem: the eye travels from the grounded base up through a series of articulated facets to a crown of rounded forms.
The juxtaposition of manufactured detail and organic irregularity gives the sculpture a compelling ambiguity between crafted relic and found stone.
