A spare monochrome figure emerges from a pale, textured ground through a handful of forceful black strokes. Heavy, hooded eyes dominate the upper field, while sweeping, layered marks across the centre suggest a hand, folded arm, or partially obscured face. Curving contours imply cheeks and shoulders without fully defining the body, allowing absence and suggestion to carry much of the composition.

The brushwork shifts between dense, emphatic passages and delicate, almost hesitant lines, creating a compelling tension between immediacy and restraint. Expanses of untouched surface heighten the psychological intensity of the isolated marks. A bold signature-like flourish near the lower edge reinforces the work’s spontaneous, intimate character.
