CR Hembram - Artwork 557

A stylized portrait rendered in layered, textural planes of green, ochre and crimson evokes a modern, abstracted take on traditional iconography.

The face is constructed from intersecting rectangles and curves, with symbolic dots and jewelry that hint at cultural references while remaining wholly contemporary in approach. The work feels intimate and tactile, its visible brushwork and surface patina giving a sense of age and ritual even as the flattened, geometric composition and cropped framing declare a modern sensibility.
