J - Barcelona - Artwork 602

This playful black-and-white composition depicts a seaside panorama populated by a large central figure of a woman in a swimsuit, miniature buildings, beach umbrellas and a lighthouse.

The artist uses a mixture of bold outlines and fine stippling to create depth and bustling seaside life, giving the work a narrative, slightly surreal quality. Viewed as a miniature city-meets-beach fantasia, the drawing balances whimsical characters and everyday activities with architectural elements, producing a lively, humorous study in scale and storytelling executed in ink on paper.
