Jatin Das - Artwork 606

A closely observed charcoal portrait in profile, rendered with layered strokes that describe hair, beard and spectacles with lively, expressive energy.

The artist captures the sitter’s presence through textured shading and decisive contour lines, producing a portrait that feels both intimate and monumental despite its restrained palette. Set in a narrow black frame, the drawing’s inscriptions and date suggest a recent work by a living artist; the surface retains visible working marks that celebrate the process of drawing—overlapping lines, erased passages and the tactile grain of charcoal that bring the subject to life.
