Jatin Das - Artwork 611

This vertical work depicts two figures in gestural repose against a soft pink and mauve ground, their forms articulated with broad dark shapes and fluid ink-like contours.

The composition emphasizes the sweep of the back, the braided hair, and the fluent handling of hands and limbs, where line and flat color combine to create a harmonious, rhythmic arrangement. Framed and matted like the companion piece, the painting balances calm silhouette with energetic marking: delicate highlights and spurts of warm color animate the dark figures and transform a simple study of the human figure into an evocative celebration of posture and movement.
