Kohvar - Artwork 619

A rectangular panel rendered in high-contrast black on a pale ground, this work reads like a hand-printed relief or carved block filled with densely woven floral and foliate forms. The composition is dominated by sweeping curvilinear leaves and stylized flower heads whose bold, etched strokes create a tactile, engraved surface quality and a sense of rhythmic movement across the picture plane. The piece is framed simply, which emphasizes the raw texture and graphic rigor of the mark-making.

The limited palette and repeating botanical motifs give it an archaic, emblematic presence, as if the image were a fragment of a larger folk pattern or an incised textile design preserved in paint.
