A dynamic range of saturated swathes—fiery red, neon yellow, muted pinks and deep blacks—are applied in broad, energetic strokes to construct a layered, horizontal tableau of colour and texture. Blocks of pigment overlap and rub into one another, producing a rhythmic landscape of painterly gestures where scraping and reworking remain visible as part of the composition’s history. The painting’s drama arises from the tension between controlled colour zones and spontaneous mark-making: bright accents sit like islands amid darker grounds, guiding the eye across the canvas and creating a sense of movement and temporality.
