Sohrai Jharkhand - Artwork 664

A warm, earth-toned Sohrai scene rendered with strong black outlines and rhythmic decorative motifs.

The composition depicts village life along a watercourse: cows and patterned animals graze beside stylized plants and trees while fishermen and birds animate the shimmering surface, all framed by a simple border that echoes rural craft traditions. The surface is textured with layered washes of ochre, brown and muted white, lending a sunbaked patina to the scene; repeated motifs — dotted hides, leaf-patterned walls and geometric animal markings — create a woven visual rhythm that celebrates communal life and the close bond between people, livestock and landscape.
