Kohvar - Artwork 723

A bold, graphic composition of a fantastical animal rendered in broad planes of earthy red and gold within a dense web of white pictorial motifs on a black ground. The creature’s body is animated by dotted patterning and rhythmic stripes, while the surrounding field is filled with tessellated symbolic forms that form an energetic, ornate background. The image exploits strong silhouette and contrasting infill to create both surface decoration and narrative charm common to regional tribal painting.

Its simplified anatomy, iconic eyes and decorative motifs give the work an emblematic presence—both playful and ritual in tone—anchored by the harmony of repeated motifs and saturated colour fields.
