Suhas Roy - Artwork 737

This slender rectangular print presents a dreamlike scene built from deep, velvety blacks and sinuous scratch lines that reveal human forms emerging from shadow. Faces and figures are suggested rather than fully described, their contours articulated by energetic, calligraphic marks that give the piece a lyrical, slightly melancholic mood; the edition notation in pencil indicates a limited print run. The play of dark and light creates a smoky atmosphere where figuration and abstraction coexist, inviting the viewer to trace outlines and discover intimacies hidden in the plate’s texture.

Framed with a generous margin, the image reads as an evocative study in emotion and the possibilities of line to suggest presence without explicit detail.
