A layered collage combines photographic fragments of performers and printed text with atmospheric washes of blue, grey and black paint. The artist overlays brushy gestural marks and areas of abrasion to blur the boundaries between found imagery and painterly intervention, producing a sense of temporal layering and cultural memory. Set in a simple white passepartout and frame, the piece reads like a palimpsest of performance and press—drummers, a speaker and typographic elements appear and recede beneath swathes of paint.

The result is a contemplative, documentary-tinged work that invites the viewer to uncover narratives hidden within the strata of image and mark.
