Rendered in stark black ink on a textured paper collage, this panoramic work reduces a busy riverside or temple-filled cityscape to a series of bold, calligraphic gestures. The ink strokes vary from dense blacks to dry-brush textures, laid over printed text visible through the marks, which adds a layered, documentary feel to the composition and emphasizes rhythm over literal description. Framed with a wide margin and presented as a horizontal vignette, the piece feels both spontaneous and disciplined: the artist’s confident, shorthand silhouettes conjure boats, domes and piers with economical strokes while negative space and torn paper edges give the image an intimate, handmade presence.

It reads as an evocative study of place, memory and the traces left by quick observation.
