M.F. Husain - Artwork 788

A vibrant, watercolor wash portraying a stylized figure with an elephantine head rendered in warm yellows and greens set against deep, mottled backgrounds. Broad, fluid brushstrokes and delicate line work define the form while leaving generous areas of paper to breathe, producing a lyrical, spontaneous effect. The image reads as a modern interpretation of mythic iconography: the elephantine head and draped fabric evoke ritual and narrative, while the loose, atmospheric handling of pigment creates a meditative, intimate mood.

The artist’s signature and editioning at the lower margin anchor the work as a limited print or lithograph execution of a painted idea.
