A warm terracotta figure carved with playful exaggeration, this standing form combines human and animal elements in a single lively composition. The subject—rotund, gestural and animated—holds an umbrella and a small device, the surface marked by fingerprints and tool work that celebrate the maker’s hand and the malleable nature of clay. Set upon a round base, the sculpture’s compact silhouette and rhythmic curves create an intimate, humorous presence; details such as tassels, a protruding trunk-like nose and the small animal at the feet give it a narrative charm.

The finish is raw and earthy, inviting close inspection of textures where the artist allowed cracks and impressions to remain part of the piece’s character.
