A close-up bronze bust of an older man, rendered with vigorous toolmarks and a rough, tactile surface. The face is gaunt and expressive — deep-set eyes, prominent cheekbones and a textured beard — the finish shows warm reddish highlights that lend the piece a weathered, lived-in feeling. The neck and shoulders recede into a simplified blocky support that contrasts with the detailed head, giving the sculpture a modern, almost expressionist presence.

The overall effect is intimate and direct: a study in character and material that invites viewers to consider age, endurance and the sculptor’s hand.
