From village stories to the sixth element
Singh’s work draws on rural Bihar, memory and performance. His practice has evolved from figurative storytelling and satire toward abstraction informed by philosophy, nature and the five elements.
The Foundation collection includes his decorative, colour-rich landscape painting.
Biography
Rooted in rural Bihar
Born in Konandpur village in Bihar in 1963, Narendra Pal Singh studied at the art college in Patna before moving to Delhi. Gallerie Alternatives traces his early village narratives and later shift toward philosophical abstraction. His practice also includes poetry and film.
